CEXX Labs
Welcome to CEXX Labs, a division of
CEXX.ORG. This section will be used to house a variety of fun
experimenal stuff, electronics projects and so forth.
Having Fun
-
Dundee
- An experiment we tried to see what major Scumware vendors would do
when the tables were turned on them. We created a fictional
"competitor" with software that would pepper their Web sites with foul
language and racial slurs.
Dundee is named after a certain outback
"GATOR" hunter.
Electrical Projects
Networking (Ghetto style)
- Lost the dongle? - If you have a PCMCIA network card you just
can't find a replacement dongle for (or it will cost you as much as a
new card), despair not! That card may be salvageable yet. Instructions
to make your own dongle and attach it to your network card.
- Build your own IRDA tranceiver - for a couple bucks (or even
free!) instead of the $40 or more for a prepackaged commercial
transceiver for your desktop PC. (What a rip!)
Other Projects
- "Put your VCR on the internet" - Instructions for building a
device that will let you control appliances and electronic devices
through your computer's parallel port. I'm sure the geekier among you
have seen the infamous "program to make coffee over the internet"
RFC...now you can actually do it.
